About IEM
Technical Background
IEM is independently owned and operated by Director Chris Carswell. He has over 14 years’ experience in industrial maintenance and operations, working across a range of heavy industries including fertiliser, pulp and paper, food processing and petrochemical. Chris has previously been stationed as an engineer at Scott Base in Antarctica, where he was responsible for the maintenance of critical life-support systems. Chris holds qualifications in the following areas:
- Mechanical Engineering - General and Maintenance Engineering Level 5
- Maintenance and Diagnostics Mechanical Engineering Level 4
- Energy and Chemical Plant Operations Level 4 (Steam Generation)
- Occupational Health and Safety Level 3
Because of Chris’ skill and experience he is considered to be competent to assess and provide recommendations on maintenance of all areas of Safety Critical Elements, as well as a number of sub-regulation high-risk assets such as lifting equipment, small boilers and tanks.
